Cheap Stump Grinding Without Cutting Corners

Just $33 Per 16in Stump. Minimum may apply to the stop. Cheap is in the name and it is the whole idea, but cheap here means an efficient job, never a half-done one.

The price stays low because of how the day is run, not because anything is skipped. One trip does it: the machine comes with me to the estimate, so the quote and the grind happen in the same visit instead of two.

The route is tight. I build it the night before out of every stop and work through them one by one, so I am not burning half a day driving between jobs.

We do not take any debris away. All I charge for is the use of the machine. That is how our costs stay as low as they are, and therefore cheaper for you.

And the machine is commercial equipment. It does in an hour what a rental will take three days to do, which is fewer hours on your job and a smaller number at the end of it.

How We Measure a Stump

The price goes by the width of the stump where it meets the ground. I measure from where the stump comes out of the ground on one side to where it goes into the ground on the other side, and average the two.

Measure yours the same way before you call and you will have a good idea of the price before I am in the driveway.

If the stump was left standing tall, that does not change how it is measured — the number that matters is the width at ground level. I bring a chainsaw for that reason and can cut trees or stumps that are 12 feet or shorter before the grinder starts.

Why a Bigger Stump Costs More

People ask why a 32-inch stump is not simply double the price of a 16-inch one. Without going into the math of a circle and the growth patterns of the average tree: a stump that is double the diameter is nearly four times the area, and therefore more wood and more work.

That is why the price is per stump and quoted on site, instead of a flat rate that would have to be padded for the big ones. It is also why a photo will not do: I have to see how wide the stump is where it meets the ground, and what is around it.

What's Included, and What Isn't

Here is exactly what the price covers, and what is not part of it.

All of it is settled before the machine starts. I look at the stump and the ground around it, give you a firm price, and nothing is owed until you approve it. Upfront pricing, with no surprise add-ons once we begin.

  • Grinding below grade with commercial, remote-controlled equipment
  • A firm price before anything starts, with no obligation until you approve it
  • The grindings left in a clean pile next to the hole, ready for topsoil and sod or to spread as mulch
  • No debris haul-off — all I charge for is the use of the machine
  • An extra $88 of labor when the only way in is a 36-inch gate; a 57-inch opening or larger does not incur any
  • Minimum may apply to the stop

Exclusive Offers

There are three standing offers. A minimum may apply, and they are not stackable — the best one applies, so you get whichever is worth the most on your job.

Say which one fits when you call and I will work it into the price on site.

  • Senior citizens, military and first responders: always get 10% off
  • Multiple stump offer: up to 20% off
  • $100+ single stump: up to 10% off

Questions About Affordable Stump Grinding

How can stump grinding be this cheap?

Just $33 per 16-inch stump, minimum may apply, and it stays there because of how the work is run. One visit covers the quote and the grind, the route is built the night before so no time is lost driving, and we do not haul debris away. All I charge for is the use of the machine.

How do you measure a stump?

I measure from where the stump comes out of the ground on one side to where it goes into the ground on the other side, then average the two. That width at ground level is what the price is based on, not how tall the stump was left.

Are there any extra charges?

A minimum may apply to the stop. The one common extra is access: if the only way into the yard is a 36-inch gate there is an extra $88 for the labor that adds, and an opening of 57 inches or larger does not incur any. Everything else is in the price I quote before we start.

Do you have any exclusive offers?

Yes. Senior citizens, military and first responders always get 10% off. Multiple stumps on one property go up to 20% off, and a single stump priced at $100 or more gets up to 10% off. They are not stackable — the best one applies, and a minimum may apply.

5 stars

Amazing job! Best quote for tree removal I received... by far. They had the job done in 30 minutes and had the stumps completely removed. 10 out of 5 stars would absolutely recommend.
